Hogarth's Pest Control specializes in all types of industries, residential and commercial.

Northern Michigan wildlife species can invade homes and businesses, sometimes without the home or business owner’s awareness and require removal. Homeowners and inexperienced pest control companies often use poison within the home to eliminate unwanted pests, which can only lead to further issues. Using poison in the home can result in the animal dying in the structure, causing awful odors and additional problems for the owner.

Many people have the misconception that rodents will seek water and leave the structure. However, most find alternative means to water and end up dying in the home. Hogarth’s Pest Control, Wildlife & Animal Removal offers dead animal removal, odor control services, and trapping to find and catch additional animals within the home. We offer services without poison in the house by setting up tamper-proof bait stations on the exterior. This helps to ensure that rodents will not enter or die in a structure.

Our Removal Services

We handle and remove various dead animals, including bats, birds, chipmunks, mice, opossums, raccoons, rats, skunks, and woodchucks.

Where We Remove

Hogarth’s has experience removing these animals from attics, crawl spaces, chimneys, drop ceilings, wall voids, pools, yards, under decks, in air duct lines or furnaces, and even vehicles. One of the main issues we’ve discovered over the years is that before even getting to an account, homeowners have already placed poison inside the home where it can be easily accessible for animals such as chipmunks, mice, rats, squirrels, and even raccoons to consume.

How We Remove

We always want our customers to be aware that if poisoning inside the home, pests can and will die inside, which causes odors and other unwanted issues. Dead animal removal is not always an easy task. Just locating the animal can often be difficult; primarily when rodents work their way into tight and hard to reach areas such as behind drywall. Once the animal has been located, we remove it, sanitize the site, and determine how it entered the structure. We will then fix the problem through exclusion and other methods.

These may include:

  • Installing chimney caps
  • Fixing and/or replacing crawl space vents
  • Sealing soffits
  • Repairing the ridge vent
  • Replacing garage door seals or weather stripping.

These methods can provide a permanent solution for rodent and animal entry.

If you’ve noticed an odor in or around your home, let us help. We often get calls regarding green bottle flies or maggots near the windows. Both are indications that a dead animal is somewhere nearby.
